Today I went back to school. I have arranged my schedule in such a way that I will be able to get my new memorylifter word of the day and read the random article on Wikipedia as soon as I get out of the shower. I wake up at 6:00am and get out of the shower at 6:15, usually. My first hour class is Religion 12, which constitutes the perfect time to read the Scripture of the Day.
Today's word of the day was favonian, meaning "pertaining to the west wind; soft; mild; gentle". The Scripture of the day was read in Genesis chapters 7-11. They talked about spreading amongst the earth after the flood, God's promise to never send a flood that destroys all people again, the Tower of Babel and how God changed the languages of all the people so they could no longer communicate with each other to finish their great city, and the curse on Caanan because Ham saw his father Noah naked at 600 years old, hehe. It also went into detail of Sham, Ham, and Japheth's line of peoples, ending in Abram and Lot. Did you know Nimrod was a great warrior of God and a decendant of Noah?
The random article of the day pertained to the use of Psychedelia in music. It went into detail of every psychedelic motif and theme used in each song for each band, such as that of the Beatles. It also described that "Psychedlic" was a word made up by a band and is defined as sounds influenced by drugs, specifically LSD. Fun stuff.
After work tonight, I was blessed enough to see yet another clear sky so I stared at the stars again. Because this is much later than I have watched them during the last two days, I was actually able to make out more constellations as the moon sat in the center of the sky. I didn't, however, read the day's watch information as described in "365 Days of Skywatching." I just stared at the stars, found Polaris and some other stars and constellations. I also saw a few man-made satellites. I need to get some binoculars or a telescope or something...
That covers about all of it for today. I am yet again impressed with my motivation staying with me to complete these tasks, even after only day three. I'm not sure what it is...
Stay classy, fellow bloggers.
About My Project
The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.
The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on your part).
Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as new year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.
Website Info:
This website is simple to navigate around. To view my 101 Goals list, click here. When I complete a task in full or in part (such as visiting one state instead of 50 as a whole), I will make a new post. The posts can be viewed by clicking on the task/book/movie/state. I will describe in detail how and when the task was completed as well as throw in some comments about its difficulty or lack thereof.
