About My Project

The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on your part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as new year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

Website Info:
This website is simple to navigate around. To view my 101 Goals list, click here. When I complete a task in full or in part (such as visiting one state instead of 50 as a whole), I will make a new post. The posts can be viewed by clicking on the task/book/movie/state. I will describe in detail how and when the task was completed as well as throw in some comments about its difficulty or lack thereof.

Sixth Day

Wow, today was a not-so-good day. I slept in way too late because I was up late last night watching Gone With The Wind (great movie, but very lengthy.) I didn't run, though it was beautiful outside. The skies were clear, but I was much too tired to go outside and star-gaze (I went to work at 5pm and got back at 11pm). I feel horrible about passing up both of those opportunities.

The Bible reading covered Job 10-13, which really just continued the argument between Job and his friends. It is great poetry to read, though. You should read the book of Job! The random article on Wikipedia covered "The Mewlips," a hobbit poem in The Adventures of Tom Bombadil by J.R.R. Tolkien. Very interesting...

For the past few days I have been working on creating my own custom linux distribution in hopes that I will never have to use windows at home again. That would complete one of the items on my list! I am encountering many compiling errors though... It's difficult trying to compile linux for a 64-bit processor on a 32-bit system. I will make it though! Wish me luck, I expect to put in 250 more hours before it's complete and to my liking.

Stay classy, fellow bloggers.
