About My Project

The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on your part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as new year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

Website Info:
This website is simple to navigate around. To view my 101 Goals list, click here. When I complete a task in full or in part (such as visiting one state instead of 50 as a whole), I will make a new post. The posts can be viewed by clicking on the task/book/movie/state. I will describe in detail how and when the task was completed as well as throw in some comments about its difficulty or lack thereof.

Seventh Day

Today was not very exciting. I spent nearly ALL of the day working on my linux distro, trying to get it to compile correctly. Right now I'm compiling glibc in 32 and 64-bit architectures. Without the jargon, I'm installing something I need to make linux work. :-)

I did manage to watch another movie today: Star Wars Episode 4. My thoughts are in its associated post.

The word of the day is hinterland. It means backcountry, or area far inland from a coast. The daily Bible reading was still in Job and still dealt with his argument with his friends. This time however, each of his friends had finished what they needed to say to comfort him and he responded to each. It seems as though he may have ended this argument once and for all... but I won't find out until tomorrow! We'll have to see whether or not he survives without cursing God's name and turning his back from the truth!

Glibc is still compiling... Hopefully it doesn't compile for thirty minutes and then become kaput, as gcc has for the last week. I've been trying to do this on 4 different operating systems! ahh!! I hope this does the trick and completes my ultimatum. (I may have made that word up.)

Stay classy, fellow bloggers.
